S'Mores Fudge

When one thinks about camping, who can deny that thoughts turn to eating S’mores – the classic campfire treat made with layers of delicious chocolate and gooey toasted marshmallows sandwiched between crisp graham crackers?

Although the true origin of S’mores is unknown, the first recorded recipe can be found in Tramping and Trailing with the Girl Scouts published in 1927. The general thinking is that graham crackers, chocolate and marshmallows were easy to transport and store when camping. The melding of these simple ingredients created a perfect balance of flavors and had everyone wanting “some more.” Ultimately, the name was shortened to “S’more.”
