Wicker Patio Set

This wicker set has long been our best selling Summer item.  The makers of this furniture use a better resin on a welded steel frame.  Others use a cast frame which can be brittle and break, or a rattan bamboo frame which suffers in our dry climate.  These sets have proven their durability over the decade we have been importing them.  They are easily cleaned with water and a mild detergent and are at home in a sun room or outdoor patio.  To extend their life, store them indoors in winter and protect them from our high altitude sun.  We are now in stock on white, chocolate, black, honey, Tri-color, and the sage color pictured.  This is a Summer only item for us, so don't delay.  The low $287.78 price includes all four pieces and a 3 pc cushion set can be added for $59.99.

Genuine Madras Cottons

Madras fabric - named for the then English city of Madras, India.  It is a lightweight, high thread count fabric with patterns indistinguishable front or back.  Durable and forgiving, it looks great in a shirt, top, jacket, pants, or skirt - ironed or not.  We just received a 6 bolts of these patterns at $5.99 per yard.  This is not a closeout but just a great price for a one time buy.  This will only last as long as our beautiful summer.

Hummingbird Feeders

The hummingbirds are back in force.  And with our warm weather sans wind, they are busy about their usual activities of mating, nesting, and looking for food.  Place several feeders in the shade about your house where you can enjoy their company.  Essential to drawing and keeping a large 'crowd' of birds is feeder maintenance.  The sugar nectar should be kept fresh and full at all times.  If the birds don't drink it down in a day or two, empty, clean, and refill the feeder with a fresh batch.  According to the Audubon Society, the feeder should be cleaned with a solution of 1 part white vinegar to 4 parts water at least once a week.  In hot weather, the sugar can ferment or mold, creating a sour nectar that is not attractive.  We recommend refilling with our Perky Pet brand Instant Nectar or using the tried and true boiled nectar.  After boiling tap water for several minutes, use the ratio of 1 part sugar to 4 parts water and mix until all the sugar is dissolved.  Unused nectar will keep up to 10 days refrigerated.

Once the birds are visiting your feeders regularly, keep them well maintained for healthy and happy friends all Summer.  If you need parts, cleaning equipment, nectar mix, or more feeders, visit our wild bird department at Clubb's Variety, 502 Main St.

New Fabric - knit mesh

From time to time our buyers will call with an unusual fabric they have found in a 'cutting room' at one of the major apparel manufacturers.  This cotton poly knit comes in a bright tie dye pattern and is a full 60 inches wide.  The mesh is created by the knitting process - not burned out like some lower quality goods.  The set up and fiber required for knitting this cost far more our $8.99 per yard price would lead us to believe.  No reorders - when it is gone it's gone.  Stop in soon.  What will you make with it?  Tell us at Clubb's Fabrics at 417 Main.  We will have some patterns for you.
